The Fastest Win in Home Energy
This 1970s semi in Leeds had just 100mm of tired, compressed loft insulation — barely a third of what a modern home needs.
Heat rises, and without proper loft insulation a huge share of it was escaping straight through the roof. We topped the existing layer up to the recommended 300mm, working carefully around the loft hatch, eaves and any downlighters to keep everything safe and ventilated.
The whole job was done in a single day, with the loft left clean and tidy. The owners noticed the difference in the upstairs rooms almost immediately — and the savings show up on every winter bill.
