The Project
Goodbye Gas Boiler, Hello Renewable Heat
A three-bedroom terrace in Manchester was running on a 17-year-old gas boiler that was costing more every winter to keep the house warm.
We sized a 9kW air source heat pump for the property and upgraded the radiators in the two coldest rooms so the lower flow temperatures of the heat pump could still deliver cosy warmth. The old boiler and tank were removed, and the new system was commissioned with a weather-compensating controller.
The owners now heat their home with renewable energy drawn from the outside air. The house is warmer than it ever was with the boiler, and they've left gas behind for good.
